The Story of Someone
Every image has something to say, if we care to listen. Not every photograph is a work of art, why is that? Intent and uncertainty battle it out every time we click the shutter on our cameras. The element of chance and intense preparation seems like they would not belong in the description of the same object. Photography is an exercise in multiplicity and composition. We often know art when we see it but cannot quite articulate what it is when asked. Through looking at and working through the archive I have come to some conclusions on what makes a photograph art. This publication explores disparate ideas surrounding art and photography. With images that have become glitched through no fault of their own. This is a journey into what it means to make and look at an image. What photography can teach us and how it facilitates communication.
Poems about Trucks and Such
It is exactly what it sounds like.
Humidity and Melancholy
Humidity and Melancholy is a photographic zine that comes from the heartland. Everyday images of Americana and a wide-ranging essay on visual communications and photography. The images in this book have been taken over the past 10 years, from Missouri, to Texas, to Colorado and beyond. With an eye on the banal and the grotesque viewers will see the intersection of technology and ecology.
After and Before Images: Selected Chemigrams from 2019 to 2023
Chemigrams are a fascinating form of alternative photography. This process is a place for experimentation and somewhere to get lost in thought. Using household ingredients I bring these images to the viewer. This photographic process does not rely on the lens or the latent image, instead it relies on spontaneity and pushing the materials to their limits. These images continue to show me something different every time I view them.
The Age of Cowards
In the near future a tyrannical regime rules with an iron fist with a narrative. A narrative that is one stream of information including all arts, entertainment, social media, and news. Our hero has been ripped from his family for making art that displeased the regime. He was thrown into a reeducation camp and his voice was taken from him. Now he and his fellow prisoners must uncover the truth to take back their freedom, not just for themselves but for the whole world.
The Age of Cowards is a dystopian social science fiction novel for adult readers. It is set in the near future. It draws inspiration from the novel threats of our time: disinformation. Using a Midwestern dialect and dark humor to explore themes of the post-truth and survival. This is my first novel, and I am excited to self-publish it.
